Keeping Our Heritage Alive

We connect the future, through the present, with the past. Since 1948, the North Olympic History Center (formerly Clallam County Historical Society), has been dedicated to keeping the history of the North Olympic Peninsula alive. The Center operates a research library, an artifact collection, and an active education program pertaining to Clallam County.

Executive Director Kathy Estes to Retire

Kathy Monds 8 Sep 2014

Our Executive Director, Kathy Estes, is planning to retire on August 31, 2020. In her own words, Kathy says:

"The past 33 years with the North Olympic History Center/Clallam County Historical Society have been wonderful. I could not ask for a better job. I have had the honor to work with an exceptional group of volunteers; have met so many people in the community through our outreach/educational programs, and have enjoyed visiting with our members--especially on 'Members Only' night of the garage sale. Everyone has been so supportive, and I will be leaving with the best memories of all who have touched my life over these 3 decades.

The Board of Directors will begin a search for my replacement. I know the new executive director will bring vibrant new ideas to this organization and carry it into the next decades. I also know that you will welcome this new person with the same support you have shown me.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible over the next months, and I am sure I will see you out and about in the years ahead. I am hoping to add more miles to my dail walks!

Thank you for all your friendship, laughter and support."
