February History Tales Features Scooter Chapman PDF Print
PORT ANGELES, WASH. — Scooter Chapman will take a break from his KONP Radio duties to talk about the history of radio at the Clallam County Historical Society’s History Tales lecture series on Sunday, February 3, at 2:30 p.m. in the meeting rooms at Vern Burton in Port Angeles.

Scooter was in the 8th grade when he came to Port Angeles in 1948. A couple of years later, he started working at KONP sweeping floors and taking out the garbage. In 1961, he began working full time at both The Daily News and KONP; in 1988, his career was solely at the radio station.

Chapman is well-known throughout the Peninsula for his broadcasting—and especially for his love of sports. He shares his enthusiasm whether talking about professional teams or local high school athletics.

History Tales is free and open to the public. For further information, please call the Clallam County Historical Society’s office at 360-452-2662 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
